Design & Manufacturing

Salt Separation Services design capability plays a pivotal role in the success of every project.

Our in-house process, mechanical and electrical engineering expertise is employed in designing all types of plant, from complex bespoke waste water treatment packages to suit a specific space envelope to stand alone filter units.

Where possible, the latest engineering software packages are utilised to aid the design process, examples are as follows:

  • AutoCAD 2007 (CAD drawing package)
  • Finglow (pressure vessel design software)
  • Membrane system design software (ROSA, ROPRO, CSM-PRO, CAROL, and others)
  • Scale inhibitor design software (Membrane Master, FloWdose, Argo Analyzer, and others)
  • Pump/motor sizing software (WinCAPS, APP Selector, and others)

Manufacturing

Mild steel fabrication Our fabrication and workshop facilities enable us to perform all aspects of equipment manufacture. We have the following capacities:

  • Main assembly/test workshop: 300 m² c/w 10 tonne crane
  • Mild steel fabrication workshop: 150 m² c/w 5 tonne crane
  • Stainless steel fabrication workshop: 70 m² c/w 1 tonne lift capacity
  • Membrane test facility: 70 m² dedicated area with test equipment

We are able to fabricate in mild steel, carbon steel, stainless steel and exotics such as Duplex / Super Duplex, CuNi, and others. Our welders are fully coded. In addition, we carry out pipework fabrications in uPVC, ABS and PP.

All equipment is fully pressure tested prior to dispatch. New and refurbished plants are fully function and process tested prior to despatch.

Design - Solidworks

SolidworksSalt Separation Services have invested in the latest cutting edge design software. After our design team reviewed several software platforms the decision was made to choose Dassault Systèmes Solidworks.

The step from a 2D drafting package to 3D modelling enables Salt Separation Services to remain at the forefront of RO Plant design by increasing productivity, improving design efficiency and improving technical documentation to the customer.

A major advantage of the 3D modelling software is the added simulation feature, this enables components to be designed & tested for strength & durability, with a resulting in-depth report of the simulation detailing factors of safety and deflection values amongst other data.

Solidworks will also enable us to provide our customers with a model of their equipment long before manufacture, which enables HAZOP and PUWER reviews to be conducted more easily and clients can integrate our design into their own 3D software.
