Salt Separation Services is a UK based water treatment engineering company specialising in the design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and through-life support of Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants used in marine, offshore and industrial applications.

Many of the solutions we provide are for high-end applications such as naval vessels, cruise ships, oil platforms and specific industrial markets (mainly for water purification and water reuse).

We currently have two positions available:

Quality Administrator – Positions Filled

We are looking for a Quality Administrator who will be a key part of the team, the purpose of the role is to ensure all supporting documentation and certifications are up to date and correct, in support of the manufacturing process.

Job Description:

  • Ensuring that all relevant supporting documentation from suppliers is provided where necessary.
  • Produce project quality plans to British Standard or client specified standards.
  • Review and approve certificates for equipment tested/calibrated in house.
  • Ensure quality documentation/Data Books, Certification, Material Certificates and Operation & Maintenance Manuals are correct and are issued in line with company procedures and client specifications.
  • Raising and dealing with non-conformances, including completing the appropriate documentation, carrying out full investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Liaise with Project Engineers to determine requirements of inspection test plans and acceptance criteria.
  • Pre-delivery inspections of all relevant documentation to be carried out.
  • Liaise with 3rd party NOBO inspectors as and when required.
  • Any other reasonable tasks associated with the job role

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.

  • Responsible and trustworthy.
  • Knowledge of quality control standards including ISO 9001.
  • Use of Microsoft office.
  • Articulate and effective communicator capable of working with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Customer focused with a view to ensuring customer satisfaction at all levels.
  • Planning and organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks.
  • Advantage if have ability to read and review technical drawings and specifications.
  • Advantage to have an Engineering background, previous experience working in a manufacturing environment, or similar.
  • A flexible approach to work, including working extra hours as the job requires.

Working Environment:

  • Work is generally office based, although there will be a requirement to spend time in other areas including the assembly shop and stores to meet the customer and business needs.

The salary for the role is £20 – £2k dependant on experience and hours will be 37 per week, Monday – Friday, (finish time of 13:00hrs on Friday)

Receptionist Secretary – Positions Filled

To perform a variety of basic secretarial and clerical duties with a principal focus on key office reception functions, as well as basic and specialised office support tasks.

Job Description:

  • Perform key reception functions, answering phones and greeting visitors to the site.
  • Organise catering and refreshments for business related activities and events.
  • Screen calls and visitors to determine nature of request or enquiry.
  • Take messages and arrange appointments
  • Type a variety of written materials
  • Scanning, filing and general record keeping/maintenance.
  • Processing and recording of outgoing/incoming post.
  • Regularly back-up and assist other staff members with various specialised clerical tasks related to the department’s primary function, such as computer data entry and basic administrative tasks.
  • Ensuring reception area and conference room are tidy at all times.
  • Acting as a fire Marshall in the event of a fire alarm.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

Working Environment:

  • Work is office/reception based.

The salary for the role is £18 – £19k dependant on experience and hours will be 37 per week, Monday – Friday, (finish time of 13:00hrs on Friday)

Employee Perks/Benefits

4½ Day Working Week

Finish at 13:00 on a Friday. This also means that to book a week off you only need to use 4½ days holiday.


Up to 25 Days Paid Holiday (Plus 8 Statutory)

On starting with the Company, you will have 20 days paid holiday (plus 8 statutory). Each year of working for the Company, you will gain 1 extra day of paid holiday up to a maximum of 25 days (after 5 years’ service) (plus 8 days statutory).


Salary Sacrifice Pension Scheme

The Company operates a salary sacrifice pension. There are NI savings made for yourself due to the salary sacrifice – these will be included in your pension contribution. The Company also makes an NI saving. As a gesture of goodwill, the Company also contributes its NI saving into your pension.


Income Protection and Life Insurance

In the event of your death, a payment for 3 times your basic salary will be paid out to a nominated person of your choice.


Discretionary Annual Bonus Scheme

If eligible, the bonus payment will be made in December. Company profit and turnover must meet criteria below for bonus to be payable:


Company Sick Pay

After 5 years’ service you will receive full Company sick pay. Until this time, you will receive SSP.


Dress Down Friday

Every Friday, you can come into work in casual clothing – these must still be suitable for a work environment.
