Salt Separation Services Ltd is a UK based, privately owned manufacturer of engineered water treatment systems. Based in Rochdale (near Manchester) we specialise in the design and manufacture of Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants used in Defence, Oil and Gas, Cruise and Industrial applications.

Metal Fabricator Apprentice

Job Description:

  • Welding

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification ill the apprentice get at the end?

All training will be delivered by a combination of all round training in the work place. You will be mentored by experienced members of staff and the tutors while developing your skills to a nationally recognised standard. The apprenticeship will also involve day release to college one day a week at Hopwood Hall College (Middleton Campus).

On successful completion of the apprenticeship you will achieve the Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering


What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

On completion of the apprenticeship to the employer’s standards, you may be asked to progress within the company.

Things to consider:

It takes great hand-eye coordination, good manual skills and an ability to follow complex engineering instructions accurately. For some jobs it can require a certain amount of strength and physical fitness – manoeuvring large metal plates, for example – but other roles might be more about precision. The salary for the role is £9,254.44 – £18,278.00k and hours will be 37 per week, Monday – Thursday 08:00-16:30 (with 30 minutes unpaid break) Friday 08:00-13:00 (no break).
