Daniel Hogg – Head of Operations

Dan’s SaltSep Journey

Dan joined us as Head of Operations in January 2026 and he is responsible for the manufacturing and wider operational functions of the business. His role focuses on strengthening production planning, delivery performance and process consistency, while building the systems and capabilities required to develop SaltSep into a world-class manufacturing facility. A key part of his role is developing a high-performing operational team that takes pride in rigour, accountability and collaboration, ensuring we consistently deliver high-quality products in demanding, highly regulated environments.

Dan started his career as a technical engineering apprentice achieving ONC, HNC and HND qualifications in Aeronautical Engineering. He also holds a First-Class Honours degree in Mechanical Maintenance Engineering, alongside a range of professional qualifications including Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and IOSH Managing Safely. Continuous improvement and learning are important to Dan, particularly in lean methodologies, operational excellence and leadership development.

Throughout his career, Dan has held senior operational and manufacturing roles across the automotive, aerospace, defence and industrial manufacturing sectors. Most recently, he was Operations Manager at Milliken, where he led a large textile manufacturing site supplying airbag fabrics to the global automotive market.

What Dan Enjoys About Working at SaltSep

“The people and the engineering challenge. There is a strong depth of technical knowledge within the business and a genuine pride in the products being delivered. It’s a collaborative environment where high standards matter, continuous improvement is welcomed and teams are committed to doing things properly.”

Dan is particularly excited about helping to shape SaltSep’s operational future by strengthening processes, improving flow and delivery performance and working closely with teams across the business to build scalable, robust systems that support long-term growth.

Dan was attracted to the role because of SaltSep’s reputation for high-quality engineering, our work within highly regulated sectors such as defence, naval and offshore and the opportunity to contribute to a growing business. The role offered the chance to apply his operational experience in a technically challenging environment while helping to support and shape the next phase of growth.
