Jimmy’s SaltSep Journey
Jimmy joined SaltSep in September 2025 as a Service Engineer, ready for a change and a new challenge.
After seven years working as a Maintenance and Operations Engineer in retail distribution, he wanted to try something completely different, something more hands-on and technical.
Since joining SaltSep, Jimmy has completed his MIST and BOSIET offshore survival training, giving him the skills and confidence to work safely in offshore environments.
What Jimmy Enjoys about Working at SaltSep
One of the things Jimmy enjoys most is working with water treatment and reverse osmosis (RO) equipment. It’s something he finds genuinely interesting, and he’s really enjoyed building his understanding of how RO plants work.
But for him, it’s also about the people.
The team is supportive, easy to get along with and there’s a strong sense of working together. That, combined with clear communication and training, has helped Jimmy grow in confidence and develop his technical knowledge.
He also enjoys the variety the role brings. From working on site and visiting ships, to travelling across the UK and abroad, no two days are ever the same.
A Typical Day for Jimmy
A typical day really depends on where Jimmy is.
At SaltSep, he’ll be working with the team, testing equipment, discussing jobs or even sometimes assembling components like reject control valves.
On site, it’s more hands-on.
Jimmy represents SaltSep while carrying out service work on customer systems, from changing vessels and membranes to making sure everything is running as it should. It’s practical work that makes a real difference to customers day-to-day.
Life Outside of Work
Outside of work, Jimmy enjoys travelling and spending time outdoors.
Whether it’s playing football or going hiking, he likes to keep active and make the most of his free time.
Jimmy is a valued part of the SaltSep team, supporting customers around the world and helping keep systems running where they’re needed most.
