Karen joined SaltSep in April 2026 and although she is only a few weeks into her role, she has already made a strong impression with her extensive experience, collaborative approach and enthusiasm for supporting the company’s continued growth.
A Career Built in Finance
Karen has built an impressive career in finance, underpinned by a degree in Accountancy and Finance from Lancaster University and professional qualifications with CIMA.
Over the years, she has worked across a wide range of industries, primarily within manufacturing. Her career has included roles at companies producing packaging materials, compact discs for Universal Music Group, food service organisations and manufacturers of roofing products and pharmaceutical containment equipment.
Throughout her career, Karen has progressed into increasingly senior positions, including Financial Controller and Head of Finance, while also serving on senior leadership teams and leading major initiatives such as ERP system selection and strategic business development.

Supporting Growth & Building Strong Foundations
As Head of Finance, Karen is focused on making sure SaltSep’s finances are in excellent shape while helping teams across the business to deliver their goals and build strong foundations for future growth.
Her role involves a great deal of variety, from collaborating with teams and leading strategic initiatives to supporting the Managing Directors and helping develop the skills of her finance team.
Life Outside of SaltSep
Outside of the office, Karen enjoys staying active and spending quality time with her family. A fun fact about Karen is that she practices Taekwondo and has achieved her blue belt. She also enjoys yoga and much of her free time is spent with her teenage children.
