Mike’s Salt Sep Journey
Mike joined Salt Sep in 2024 as a Storesman in our Warehouse, a role he held for 12 months before progressing into the Procurement team as a Procurement Specialist. With seven years of prior experience in warehousing and fifteen years working in pubs, Mike brings a strong work ethic and great people skills to his role. He is now preparing to start CIPs training as he continues to grow professionally within the business.
What Mike Enjoys About Working at Salt Sep
For Mike, no two days are the same and that’s exactly what he enjoys. He thrives in the fast-paced, reactive nature of procurement, where things are always moving and evolving. Mike values the strong team dynamic and the supportive relationships across departments, particularly within the Procurement team.
Since stepping into his role, Mike has developed his communication skills and now enjoys working closely with suppliers, arranging meetings and managing day-to-day challenges. His problem-solving skills have also grown, as he often must think on his feet to find the best and quickest solutions.
He’s excited about the direction Salt Sep is heading and feels fortunate to be part of a growing, forward-thinking team. Mike is especially pleased to have moved into the Procurement team, where he’s embraced a new challenge and continues to develop his skills. With strong support from his colleagues, particularly Kevin, our knowledgeable Procurement Team Leader, Mike is looking forward to the future and is eager to continue growing in his role.
What a Typical Day Looks Like for Mike
Mike’s day involves a lot of communication with suppliers, sourcing the best value for the company and placing orders to support both our Projects and Aftersales teams. He also works closely with other departments to confirm requirements and continues to lend a hand in stores whenever possible.
What Mike Does in His Free Time
Outside of work, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife and their three boys and fits in a game of football whenever he can.
Mike is a valued member of our Procurement team, helping to keep projects on track and ensuring we get the best value for our customers. Want to meet more of the people behind Salt Sep? Click here to learn more about our team.
