Daniel’s Salt Sep Journey
Daniel is our Technical and Commercial Director here at Salt Sep. With over thirty years of unwavering dedication to the company, Daniel has made significant contributions to its success. Initially joining the company to look after the aftersales side of the business, Daniel has taken on a vast array of roles during his time, including project engineering and project management, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills. His journey continued with responsibilities in installing and commissioning, and later technical sales of capital equipment excelling in promoting Salt Sep’s offerings to clients, ensuring their needs were met efficiently. In October 2007 Daniel was appointed as director and partial owner of Salt Separation Services, following the retirement of one of Salt Sep’s founders, Kevin Shackleton. Before embarking on his career at Salt Sep, Daniel acquired a Bachelor’s Degree in applied sciences from Staffordshire University. He also gained valuable experience in various industries, including retail and working as an engineering assistant at a polymer manufacturer.

What a Typical Day is Like for Daniel
Daniel’s typical day here at Salt Sep is characterised by a remarkable level of variety and dynamism. His daily activities can range from client Teams meetings where he collaborates with clients to understand their specific requirements, to reviewing designs and proposals. He also dedicates a lot of his time to supporting the sales and projects teams, which may include providing guidance, sharing technical knowledge, or assisting with problem solving to ensure smooth project execution. Daniel also engages in longer-term strategic planning, which contribute greatly to shaping the company’s direction and adapting to evolving market dynamics.
What Daniel Does in his Free Time
Beyond his professional life, Daniel is a father to his two children, aged 20 and 17. Cycling holds a special place in his heart as one of his true passions, recently competing in time trials, pushing himself in races that span distances ranging from 10 miles to 12 hours. In addition to this, Daniel has expanded his athletic pursuits into the realm of long-course triathlons.
